The accredited art museum includes art exhibitions, a sculpture garden, studio art and humanities classes, exhibition tours, performances, a museum store, film studies, an art research library, workshops and seminars, children and youth events, and community cultural celebrations.
Collections to see
The permanent collection of the Vero Beach Museum of Art is central to the Museum's mission and features art from the early twentieth century to the present in a broad range of media. The collection includes over 880 works of art and is currently concentrated primarily on American art. The museum also hosts a rotation of current exhibitions including Made in Germany - Art Since 1980 from the Rubell Family Collection and 150 Years of Painting and Sculpture from the Permanent Collection. The permanent art collections housed at the Vero Beach Museum of art include works in the areas of glass, paintings, photography, sculptures, video presentations and works on paper.
Events and workshops
In addition to a variety of art exhibits to view, the Vero beach Museum of Art host a number of events and workshops for visitors to explore.
The Splash Water Droplet Photography workshop covers the set-up of water droplet photography and how best to use lighting with a speed light. For guests interested in working with textiles The Art of Mosaic Design workshop is a beginner's workshop that teaches the basic skills of creating, cutting, and placing picassiette pieces on a base. Students will have the opportunity to create their own mosaic using the techniques introduced during the workshop. Just bring your creativity and go home with your work of art. Looking to learn more about the art of photography? The Floral Photography Workshop covers the basic principles of floral lighting, composition, and design including the use of one strobe (hand-held flash) or incandescent light mixed with natural light.
The Vero Beach Museum of Art also hosts a range of events and activities specifically designed for kids and families including the Museum Studios (ages 4-11 years), Museum Babies (for infants), Museum Toddlers and Musuem Stories (ages 2-4 years). In addition to family workshops, the Art Zone is a hands-on interactive space at the Vero Beach Museum of Art geared just for kids. Multi-sensory activity stations introduce and engage kids and their families with art, creative thinking, and playful learning. Same hours & admission as Museum.
On the last Saturday of each month, friends and family can enjoy the Museum free of charge. All the galleries and sculpture parks are open for you to explore.
