Pick up fresh and local farm products
With the vision to bring the community into even closer contact with their food and with farming, the Urban CSA Eighth Day Farm is located at the Holland Town Center, turning 2 acres parking lot into a green paradise. Visionary leadership of Holland Town Center invited the founders, Jeff and Melissa Roessing to this space in 2012. The Urban CSA recycles spent grain, coffee grounds and food waste into beautiful compost, resurrecting the life of the soil, which is now over 5% organic matter! They grow a range of vegetables without chemical fertilizers, insecticides and herbicides. Community members can stay in town and re-engage agriculture with this conveniently located farm. This one of a kind urban farm is also home to a hive of bees and a flock of chickens.
More than a market place
Located in beautiful Holland, Michigan, The Holland Town Center is being revitalized into a vibrant neighborhood within the community. Re-purposing the existing buildings into a functioning neighborhood rich with shops, restaurants, a community garden, and friendly people, the goal of the Holland Town Center is to be a gathering place for individuals, families, and businesses. As a neighborhood, the center is focusing on bringing in new businesses, giving them an improved look in a classic setting.
But the Holland Town Center is more than a marketplace; it is striving to become a community, a more sustainable second-life within Holland city. A neighborhood is defined not only by geographic location, but it is also defined with social components in mind. Mirroring the character of the local community, a great neighborhood contributes to well-being in day-to-day life.
Forward thinking, innovative, and creative, Holland Town Center proudly reflects these characteristics.
