Radisson Continues Growth on the West Coast with a Signing in Pendleton, Oregon

Serving as the perfect destination for outdoor enthusiasts near the base of the beautiful Blue Mountains 

Radisson Hotel Group Americas today announced the signing of a new-build Radisson on the West Coast. Radisson Hotel Pendleton Airport in Pendleton, Oregon will offer 75 guestrooms and suites. The hotel has already broken ground and is set to open in the spring of 2022. 

The quaint city of Pendleton has a booming tourism industry for outdoor enthusiasts offering everything from fishing and hunting to skiing, hiking, biking, and golf. The city also hosts the Pendleton Round-Up Rodeo, one of the ten largest rodeos in the world. Based at the foot of the beautiful Blue Mountains, this relaxing destination has something for everyone.

Radisson Hotel Group Americas Renews Partnership with SGS as Part of its Ongoing Commitment to Cleanliness and Safety

Radisson Hotel Group Americas is proud to announce the extension of its partnership with SGS, the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing, and certification company recognized as the global benchmark for quality and integrity. This extension will continue the successful roll out of the Radisson Hotels Americas Safety Protocol to further strengthen the company’s existing rigorous sanitation, cleanliness, and disinfection program across its portfolio around the world.

In 2020, Radisson Hotel Group Americas worked closely with SGS to conduct an in-depth review of all existing health and safety processes and worked with a team of experts to develop and validate the Radisson Hotels Americas Safety Protocol. This program includes a comprehensive series of 20-step and 10-step protocols for hotels and for Meetings & Events. These enhanced protocols include thorough health and safety procedures such as increased cleaning and disinfection especially in high touch point areas, sanitizing stations, team member personal protective equipment (PPE), and physical distancing measures. All the protocols have been validated by SGS, building on local requirements and recommendations to ensure guests’ safety and peace of mind from check-in to check-out. The Radisson Hotels Americas Safety Protocol is an official cleanliness and disinfection label, which can be used by hotels only after a centralized validation process has been conducted by SGS.

From the start of our partnership in 2018 when we appointed SOS Children’s Villages as one of the Group’s global charity partners, we have witnessed the essential and good work many entities of SOS Children’s Villages around the world have done for children and youth in their care in education and in community projects. We have always supported the organization and its work with children and youth in good faith, and adhered to the strictest codes of conduct, reporting, and application of all child-safeguarding policies in our volunteering and fundraising activities, as requested by SOS Children’s Villages International.

Effective immediately, Radisson Hotel Group and Radisson Hotel Group Americas are suspending their cooperation with SOS Children’s Villages, including all fundraising and volunteering, until we receive more information to assess the full impact of the issues and the remediation actions SOS Children’s Villages will implement across its entire organization, national entities and villages. We continue to believe in the unconditional rights of children, the importance for companies to support charities in their essential work, and the obligation of any charity to support, care for, and cherish the children and youth in their care.

Radisson Hotel Group Americas Honors Its Hotels and Frontline Team Members with a Virtual Awards Ceremony

With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, senior leaders at Radisson Hotel Group Americas felt it was more important than ever to celebrate hotel owners and team members and their exceptional efforts and achievements throughout 2020. The Radisson Hotel Group Americas Awards Ceremony is typically held during the company’s annual Americas Business Conference, which was cancelled this year to maintain the safety of all attendees, but this didn’t stop the celebration! Instead, senior leaders brought the Awards Ceremony directly to hotel teams by going virtual. 
 
The event was open for all hotel and corporate team members to watch and participate in the fun. The star-studded ceremony included virtual appearances and congratulations by Chip Rogers, AHLA president and chief executive officer; and Biran Patel, AAHOA chairman. During the event on March 24, Radisson Hotel Group Americas leaders gave out more than 50 awards to the best and brightest in the system. Categories included New Hotel of the Year, Hotel of the Year, Developer of the Year, General Manager of the Year, and Employee of the Year. In addition to being applauded for their efforts, winners of the coveted Employee of the Year award walked away with one million Radisson Rewards points and other fabulous gifts. 
 
“Celebrating and honoring hotel owners and team members is extremely important to Radisson Hotel Group Americas. These people are the ones making a difference in the lives of their guests and serving as the heart of their community,” said Jim Alderman, chief executive officer, Radisson Hotel Group Americas. “The individuals recognized have shown the world the true meaning of hospitality and what real strength looks like in uncertain times. With so many hotel team members and owners stepping up over the past year to help those in need, Radisson Hotel Group Americas added four new Responsible Business awards to the ceremony to recognize exceptional heroes. The RHG Americas Hero Award sponsored by the American Red Cross, was presented to Radisson Plaza Hotel at Kalamazoo Center. The hotel hosted 10 blood drives in 10 months and collected enough blood to save up to 1,600 lives. Sara Sensabaugh, general manager of Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Lexington, Virginia, was also recognized with an RHG Americas Hero Award. Sensabaugh played an integral role in helping a homeless guest rebuild her life and pursue her dream career. The First Responder Award winner was Radisson Hotel McAllen Airport for hosting 150 nurses and showering them with gifts, meals, and a warm home away from home during their stay. Radisson Montevideo Victoria Plaza Hotel was recognized with the Support Youth Award for donating accommodations for doctors and communicators who attended the annual Telethon Foundation. This television event raises money and awareness to assist children with neurological and musculoskeletal disabilities. Lastly, the Fight Hunger Award was granted to Radisson Hotel Kitchener Waterloo for helping a local nonprofit men’s shelter that assists with housing, medical and mental health care, and social work. The hotel opened its doors and provided comfortable accommodations for nearly 100 men who needed a warm place to stay.
 
During the awards ceremony, Radisson Hotel Group Americas’ fantastic suppliers were also recognized. Both Kimball and Klem were awarded Suppliers of the Year for their responsiveness, service, value, and solutions during the most challenging year on record for the hospitality industry. The Responsible Business Supplier Award went to Sysco Corporation for partnering with more than 900 community organizations around the world to package and deliver a total of 30 million meals in the fight against hunger. Mark Abramovitz was honored with the Supplier Representative of the Year Award for providing alternative solutions for key high-demand COVID-19 related supplies, shipping multiple orders at no cost to hotels, and lowering margins knowing hotel budgets were stressed. Lastly, the winner of the Small Business Supplier of the Year Award was Supply Logic for working around the clock to help the company successfully rollout the Radisson Hotels Americas Safety Protocol program. The generosity of EcoLab, HD Supply, Guest Supply, Manchester Mills, Cintas, Charter, Serta Simmons, Artline, Supply Logic, and Cuisinart played a key role in making this virtual awards ceremony come to life.

The Heart of Georgia Welcomes a New Country Inn & Suites by Radisson Hotel

Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, a leading upper midscale hotel brand, today announced the opening of Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Macon West, GA. Situated 20 minutes west of downtown Macon at the junction of Interstate 475 and state Highway 80, the hotel serves as a convenient respite for those visiting Macon or just passing through town. Radisson Makes a Grand Entrance Into California's Capital City

Radisson, one of the most recognized hotel brands, today announced the opening of the 140 room Radisson Hotel West Sacramento. In this role, Taylor will join Radisson Hotel Group Americas' Executive Committee. Additionally, she will oversee the corporate legal team while assuming responsibility for all company legal matters in the Americas.
